No offense, but I'm not digging the cover on top. It's a smart idea, but it just doesn't look clean when open. Are you able to create a bracket so that it can fold down like a stock oven door?
Or velcro it up there when you need it to be hidden.

yeah its just a tester...not final. Just trying to come up with ideas...a removeable velcro wall was thought of too
