on my way to my gurl's house on friday the sound out of the stereo cutoff no sound whatsoever the stereo is still on the cd plays but no sound i checked to see if i had the front speakers miss wired i did but still nothing i don't think i blew the fuse cause the radio is still on i dunno what else to do ?
did the head unit smoke at all when it cut off?
First thing I'd do is check BOTH fuses that power the radio...
I would check fuses first then check your wires going to the speakers for any shorts. You mentioned that you put in new speakers recently?
thanks tomas for the diagram, badger i did just replace the front speakers i did have one of the front speakers wired wrong
are your speakers powered by an amp? If not then something is grounding and you should double check your crimps and connections.
Having speakers miswired will not cause the radio to not play. The speakers will still play, but they will be firing backwards.
Are you getting sound from anything else like FM/AM, ipod, etc other than the CD? stock or aftermarket HU? Check fuse(s). pull radio out and test w/ junker HU if you have one laying around. Just a few suggestions.

Actually, I did this for 2 weeks and it was great. I didn't have anything blocking my mind from being able to just think about things. I do it every now and then currently. Oh, and Oprah never turns the radio on in the car.

well i was able to fix the radio YAY!!! i don't why it cause it but i had a total of two speakers miss wired i checked everything fuses, the HU, and wiring

i have a $139 JVC thing in mine and for some reason if im listening to a CD it will just swap to the radio all of a sudden. i know theres a feature that allows it to do that for like traffic updates or whatever but not only do i have that setting disabled, it doesnt go to a traffic warning channel it will come up with any ol random station. its weird.
