Going to be needing a rack for my new bike and hopefully my 2nd soon... I have a friend that is going to give me his Yakama rack, don't know if it'll fit right I might need new clamps or whatever, but does anyone have experience with roof racks and 2nd Gens?
Thanks
It looks like both Thule and Yakima make roof racks for the 2Gen. I don't know if you'd need other clamps, but I'd probably go buy the vehicle-specific item.
If you go online to either of their sites, you can find out what size clamps you'll need or anything else you may want for your car. I bought a yakima rack from my dad's friend and the clamps didn't fit right on my car. I had to go on the site and order the ones I needed and I was set. Another thing you may want to make sure is if the bars are long enough. Mine don't hang off the sides like most peoples, but its still a good length. Oh course, I have the 1st gen however, its still something you'd have to look into. Hopefully this helps

Yep, definitely contact the manufacture. They will get you the parts needed if your missing anything.
Don't know if its a Yak or Thule... He was in Hawaii all last week, and just got back, I'm not going to rush him.
Thanks for all the info everyone!
The key is I don't want to drill into my car, I just want the mounts

I don't think you should have to drill into anything to have a roof rack.
Yakima makes a system for our cars for $285 retail. I might pick one up come winter and I'll let you guys know how it is.
Still have not bought a rack, just been putting down the seats and throwing it into the back. But I am considering the one that goes onto the hatch instead of the roof. Mainly cause its a lot cheaper! But I might just keep doing what I have been doing...
I may settle for a cargo mat for the rear - it's usually only me and one other person going snowboarding, so the cargo room in the back is more than enough for that.
