I installed a 200 amp alternator from Excessive Amperage this past weekend, and now my belt squeeks on takeoff. The pulley for this new alternator is bigger. Do I upgrade the rest of my pulleys? Upgrade the belt tensioner? trash the whole car? I HATE SQUEEKY BELTS! HELP MOI! lol
All you need to do is tighten the belt some more and the squeal should go away.
But, if you feel like trashing the car, give it to me instead
yep, just tighten the bet, you should be fine.
an easy, albeit temporary fix to a squeeky belt is to hold a bar of soap to the inside of the belt with the car running for a few seconds.

my belt squeeks only in the morning. Should i tighten it also? the car dealer cant seem to reproduce this noise i hear in the morning. And id hate to have to take it to them again.
^ Typical for any car to do that. But, I would suggest tightening the belt.
