I took the ol box out to the auto X Sunday to see what it'd do. I've never seen one run before and apparently neither had anyone else. To start with, the SCCA has pretty much every car listed in the book including an XA and TC but no XB. I finally told them just to write it in. Some thought the box would be a roll over risk to which I just laughed and said wait till I get out there.
Keep in mind this was my first time and I found out that even though the sportmax's with stretched tires looks great, they don't lend themselves to the torture of these tight turns. My best run was a 73 (sec) which was really pretty decent considering what some cars (Which were more condusive to this type of event) were doing. I was pushing the tires really to the limits, trying not to roll them completely under and mess up my lip.
It was definitely a fun time aside from the 95 + degree heat and the major sunburn on my face (too stupid to remember sunblock).

Those were bad azz videos, love the editing about the f@*king honda, LOL. Yeah I just bought a complete new set of tires (195/50/15's) and they ride a ton better than the 185/60/15's I was on. Even at your height a 205/50/15 would be good too. It also look like alot of swaying was going on even though you were right on w/ the driving. Do you have any stabilizing bars, like a strut, H-frame, or f/r sway bars? That was some pretty bad azz drivin' you did, way better than I could have and I play a lot of racing video games, lol.
Looks like a blast holmes. I see you only hit one cone. Pretty good.
I'm going to show the guys at a cruise this weekend to show them what my box would look like doing auto cross. That looked like fun.
I have the stock front sway bar w/ the Energy Suspension urethane bushings and a Progress rear sway bar as well as a Megan strut bar. I think I'll need to get an H frame brace as well.
I think most of the roll was coming from the tires, I was almost on the sidewall several times....those tires are just too tall for this sort of event.
BTW...yes I did hit a cone, but you didn't see this.
Cone clipped by front tire........
Uprighting itself.....
The cone actually stood back up...IN THE SAME PLACE!
HAHA...no point penalty for hitting a cone...Sweet!
Here's the list of best times from that weekend. See how the xb stacked up against all these different cars...I think it's pretty impressive myself.

#21 Kevin Marsh is in our club w/ a TC...he only got me by a second and some change.
thats sick i would do that in mine if i wasn't running the 18's
hells yeah!
that type of suspetion do you have ?
ive got tein SS+P coilovers and id bet those would handle that corse like a pro.
i see those sportmax stickers on your side windows

Why can't you run it w/ 18's?

I've got Tenzo springs, progress sway bar and energy suspensions urethane bushings on the front sway bar.
I'd love to have coilovers but I can't afford them at this point.

I agree that because of your tire size that yes, you did have a lot of roll from your tires, BUT, look at that pic closer. You will see the fender gap is larger that the right front. So, most of the compression is on the left front spring and not the tire. The lean looks worse because of the tires, but the frame won't roll like that because of week sidewalls.
Nice job Patrick. I've auto Xed before at Ft Knox, KY and had a blast. Everyone thought the same thing about the box but it proved them wrong for sure. Wish I could have been there with ya.
I'd love to have more boxes out there than just me. I know Brandon will do it if he *EVER* gets his new clutch put in.
I'm not going to run anymore this year though. I want to get different tires before I do that again, which may involve getting a new set of rims...not sure yet.
