Whats the best Gloss black spray paint i can or should get from Lowes? I plan on painting all my grey interior pieces like the trims around the steering wheel, radio bezel, and window switches gloss black.
I would go with crylon, it works good for painting plastic!!!
the krylon fusion for plastics
Yep, I second the Fusion paint. Just get it from an autoparts store. It will end up pretty glossy, but if you need more gloss then just add a clear coat to it.

I did my interior pieces white and I was gonna put gloss over them, but it was glossy enough for me.
What did ScionChick use to paint her stuff with?
duplicolr facric and vinyl. i just bought the same thing and havent started yet. but if u look in here thread, there is actually a picture of the can
i saw the pictures of her interior paint. It came out real nice however i just want a basic gloss black and not the metallic black she got.
So you guys recommend krylon for plastic? Ill go to Lowes tonight and check it out. Should i do a wet sand between coats of paint or spray and walk away.
fusion, is specifically designed for plastic. i would think a good rub down with alcohol and then a few light coats should give you the look you are after....
I dislike Krylon Fusion. It's always flaked on me.
The Rustoleum for plastic is my choice. You can get it at Home Depot.

I painted my interior pieces with that, and dyed the headliner and sunvisors with Duplicolor vinyl & fabric.
i just sprayed my B Pillars today using Rustoleum and the SOBs came out like CRAP. the paint wouldnt adhere to the plastic and actually created pits in the paint as if there was oil or something on there. i hit the pillars with a good rub down of thinner first.... it weird, my A pillars i did a week ago or so and they came out just fine. Sad
Maybe humidity played a factor.
it definately could have, it was wikked humid in that place. either way i have to sand it down and start from scratch! BOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
i want to avoid all that madness and get it done right the first time. Has anyone had any experience with the Rustoleum Universal?
I say the prep work is just as important as the paint. I vote for Fusion. I have used that stuff before and it works great. But if your prep work is crap then the best paint in the galaxy will look like crap.
woooorrdd. how should i prep these pieces? sanding? primer?
