so yeah, this is my windshield nightmare.

ive had a crack going almost half way across the windshield on the drivers side for about 8 months.
my registration is up begining of sep. so i needed to have it replaced to be able to pass state inspection.
i set aside the money to do it from my tax return.

i was refured to a local shop called "Mark's mobil glass" because they did a windshield on Creepingonchrome's box and did a real good job.
so i thaught i was in good hands and the price "$250" was reasonable.

i had my wife take it over there when she got off work because they would be close by the time i got off.
when they got done she said it didn't look right.
i told her to bring it to me so i could look at it.

ive never put a windshield in a car but i bet i could have done a better job.
it was too far over to the drivers side that left a gap in the seal on the passenger side that the guy just pumped the hole channel with that black sealent stuff. it looked bad.
i personaly took it back over the next day (during lunch) to have them look at it and told them it was unaccaptable in my book.
they said the would have to pull it and redo it, so i set up a time to do it the next day.

they put a hole new window in and did a great looking job...... but....... ........................................................................................ now it leaks in 2 spots, it rained the day i got it back.
so now i have another appointment for this monday.
i think its a tad funny because thease guys have totally lost there ass on this job, but at the same time im tired of having to deal with this.

yeah it is a PIA but hopefully they will keep working with you till it is fixed right

Wow, I'm just sooooo glad my windshield is fine, other than the chip where the full sprite can came flying at my on the interstate. That scared the crap out of me.

I hope you get everything situated, it's just STUPID for them to have to do it twice, now three times? If I'm the owner, I'm calling a MEETING!!!

aww that totaly sucks....when i had my first rock chip they came out and fixed it but it never went back to normal if that makes any sense....now i have another one so im getting the whole thing replaced soon before it gets any worse

if they muss up a 3rd time.......................
i don't know........... the only thing i think would be reasonable is for them to give me my $ back and ill go to someone elts that can do it right.

I understand that the box actually is a difficult windshield, especially for one guy to do, because of it's size and angle. (Vanilla is on her fourth.)

Vanilla's second windshield was a horrible installation (and a bad piece of glass to boot - all sorts of optical problems), and I refused it - didn't even take it home from the dealership.

Don't accept the work until it is done right. If they balk, have a friend bring in another box with the windshield in RIGHT, point at it, and tell 'em that's what it has to look like.

Wow. That sucks. Wish people would just do things right the first time.

Yeah..that does suck. I hate it when you trust people to fix your car RIGHT the FIRST time and they screw that up.
I'm on my 3rd windshield now and hope that number 4 is installed as good as 2 and 3 were.

Talk to Mike (Alliance Auto Sports) about windshields...he had about the same nighmare you have and think he went through 4 pieces of glass before they got it right and I know that had to repaint part of his car.

they resaled the window from the inside .............. i don't know if it leaks yet, ill run a hose all over it tomarow.
ill never go threw thease guys again

MO sucks man, a crack will fail your state inspection and its not covered under ins.
ive got a $500 deductable and that as low as my ins compainy goes.
so hope fully i don't have do do this again any time soon.
id hate to have part of my car repainted and then have those guys mes up too.
im so nervice having someone work on my car. ive always done "all" my own work and i do mean "ALL" this is the crap i have to deal with when i let some one elts touch it.

Sorry to hear -- I'm on my 2nd peice of glass and the kid did a pretty fair job putting it in except for the scratch in the paint.

yep thats right.
i ran a hose over the roof yesterday around 4pm and let the water run down the winshield like it would if it was to rain and its still a very bad leak on the pasenger side and ive noticed some scraches.

i called the maneger (very nice guy) and told him everything that was wrong.
he offered to try and fix it again......... this is what i said "i don't want my car in your shop anymore, you have had 3 too meny chances to fix it and i don't want any more damage done to my car, so what happens from here? how do we get this fixed?" he said he "could do several thing and it all depends on what im compforable with"
i said " im most compfortable with you giving me my money back and letting me go to someone elts"
he said ok, but i have to give him his window back, it doesnt matter if it get broken or not.

i guess hes going to use it to hit the tech over the head with it.
if i was the manager....... thats what i would do.

so now ive got a different compainy coming out friday morning to put anothr piece of glass in it.
please, please, please let things go right this time!

Thats why I'll never change mine, I'm going for the record of having the most chips/cracks on a scion's windshield at once. So far I'm at the 9 or 10 mark, I'll have to recount to make sure cuz I heard another hit the other day, lol.

Robert at some point you'll end replacing it. I milked mine for as long as I could take. Swartzman -- Hope the new shop gets it right for you.
