for this DIY i will be putting a large vinal decal on my front windsheild.
but this same process can be used to put vinal anywere on your car.

ok
things you will need
your vinal (most important)
razor blade
glass cleaner (the best is Invisable Glass IMO)
soapy water
scissors
tape measure
painters tape (i guess you could use other tape, this is just what i used)
plastic scraper
lint free towel (micro fiber)

grab you glass cleaner

spray the part of the glass were you will be placing the vinal

now get the razor blade and scrape all over the area to get anything and everything off the glass, dirt & dust under your vinal sucks & looks like crap & you will neve get it out once its there.
* you would skip this step if you were placing the vinal on paint *

now wipe it all off with your lint free towel

look real close at the glass and make sure you didn't miss anything

get your measuring tape & think about were your vinal will look best.
my tint is 7" down in the center and my vinal is 5" tall so that would leave 1" on top and 1" on bottom. my tint is not perfect (its a 3/16 lower on one side) so its best to pull your marks from the bottom of the tint so your vinal comes out looking strait. find the very center of your window and place a piece of tape there that only comes up 1" into the tint & mark on the tape your center line

now find the center of your decal and trim the paper up to the edge of the vinal and place your center mark there also.
also trim the bottom edge of the paper on the ends of the decal

without pealing the paper of........ place the decal on the window and line up your center marks.
now you can put a peice of tape at both ends only 1" up in to the tint (like you did in the center) below were your vinal will touch

now grab your soapy water wix ( to a half bottle of water i put 2 tbl spoons of soap) and spray the place were your decal will go

peal off the paper on the back of your decal (MAKE SURE ITS THE BACK! if you peal the paper off the front you can just throw it in the trash) also make sure none of the vinal sticks to the piece of paper you are removing spray a little soap on the part that will go on the car

put it in the general place you want it.
the water soap wix will let you move it around quite a bit with out messing anything up.
and line up your 3 marks

once you feal you have it were you want it, grap the plastic scraper and "drag" (don't push, it will rip the paper and or vinal) it firmly across the decal (with the front paper still on it) pushing all the water out. start at the top center and work your way to the side and down.
make sure you have your decal were you want it befor staring this step because once you start this you will not be able to move it.

take your time & push all the water and bubbles out, this is very importiant if you want it ot look good and last for a wile.

ok let it dry, sitting in the sun if just fine, but you can help it along with a heat gun if you are carfull not the over heat anything.
i just let it dry on its own ( about 1/2 hour, smaller decals will take less time)

now start on one side and pull the top paper off flat against that glass.
if the vinal wants to come up with the paper then its not dry yet

keep pulling slowly at that sharp angle all the way across

reclean the deacl with that glass cleaner and wip the hole thing off.
and your done

if you noticed any air bubbles you can try carfully pushing them to the edge of the decal with your finger (not your finger nail, your finget tip) and/or just wait a few days and let the heat from the sun push them out.
if you still notice some bubbles after a few days you can take a needle and poke the center of the bubble and squeez the air out.
noone will ever see the super tiny hole
