I've never kept a car for longer than three years and am now starting to get an itch for a new car. I really don't like anything on the market at the moment execept the Toyota Tacoma V6 double cab pre-runner. The dip in gas prices hasn't fooled me to pull the trigger on a Tacoma. I am really picky with what I drive, it must have plenty of head and leg room and is why I own a 1st gen xB. I will not buy a 2nd gen since my wife and I already own one. The only way I see myself buying a 2nd gen xB is if Scion brings a RS with a Rumion body kit, which seems unlikely. I am really considering the 3rd gen Prius if I don't have to stuff myself in like the current model. I do not see myself keeping my xB another year unless I don't find anything that I feel comfortable in.
What will be your next car? How long do you plan on keeping your xB?
ill probably keep the xB still its either undrivable or so beat up that i cant keep it pretty. otherwise, ill probably drive it for a long while. i am like you though, ive never kept a car more than a few years. i have had my Dodge ram for about 6 years but 4 of them the truck sat in my dads garage while i was overseas. id gladly get rid of that thing btw. i would like a smaller p/u truck though. they are hella handy to have around.
so, i dont really know what my next car will be. i would love to have another Fox Body Mustang around 90-93. this time i want an LX Notchback. i had a supercharged LX but it fell apart faster than i could keep it fixed. i really loved that car and downshifting going up the slightest of hills does kinda drive me nuts about the xB.
I had two Cadillacs prior to the box and don't see myself going there again. I've been known to keep a car less than a year or for close to 10...depends on how much I like it.
I don't forsee me getting rid of the box...probably do just the opposite..I want a few of them.
I wouldn't mind having a performance car again...but its not that big a deal. Honestly, there isn't anything on the market today that I've given a second glance at....well that's not true...I'm thinking a 2 dr Yaris would be fun to mod.
I'll be keeping Vanilla until her wheels fall off or something smacks her into oblivion.
There isn't anything currently on the market (in the United States...) that I would prefer.
(Considering I've owned 29 different cars, I'm also not one who usually sticks with one for an extended time.)
The one car I drove this weekend that was pretty sweet was a 09 Subaru Forester XT! I just can't see dropping $28k for one of these...
I am going to get the IQ when it comes out and save the box for when the 3 of us need to go somewhere
I just turned 21 and have had 7 rides. so I'm in the same "short-lived" boat. However, this is the first one that I've financed, and unless I pay more than what the payments call for, I'm stuck with my box for the next 5 years. But I also plan on baggin mine soon and can't do that until I get a beater car to DD (sitting on the freezing driveway with a heat gun at 7 AM, screw that noise. lol) I'd always like to have every car I've owned over again. To do them the right way. The 75 VW Bus, the 97 Taurus Wagon, the 96 Eclipse, the 97 Montero Sport, the 96 Indy Pace Car Edition Ram with the fully built, open headered 360....all of em.
However, my plans once I become a successful millionaire with a smokin hot wife and 5 equally attractive mistress' is to get an 02 Cummins extended cab long bed for a tow pig with a 10" air suspension lift and 24s wrapped in 44s, an 03 Accord Coupe with the VTEC V6 20s and a nice system as a daily, keep my xB, and build 2 more show cars: a 97 Taurus Wagon on 22s, juiced, with 4 18" Fi Car Audio BTLs and 2 Kicker Warhorses to take to some SPL comps, and a 65 Continental jet black on 24s and bagged.
my next car will prob be a more fam oriented car, maybe the mazda 5 or the venza, but it would probably be the wife's ride, i'll keep the xb and my 79 silverado and hopefully my 95 civic and a few other cars that i would like to build, a 57 chevy and 63-64 impala SS ( convertible if possible)
I wanted a Mazda 5 before I bought my xB! The only problem, I'm 6'4" and could not get my legs under the steering wheel...

So I drove the Subie Forester XT again and almost pulled the trigger last night! I really like this car but will not buy it with having this much emotion plus got them to drop the price almost three grand. I really wish I had a three car garage to keep my xB but need to graduate to something new...
I'm keeping the B personally...the only other ride I would like is a Jeep...riding with the top off is lots of fun.

We have a Jeep...it doesn't get driven nearlly like it used too once we both got xb's...LOL
My next car will be a 1936 chevy low cab truck. I have it now it just has a long way to come before its road ready.

Awesome! I had a 39 Chev truck back in the day...wish I still had it.
