Hi my name is joe im new to the xb site my brother has been telling me to join for a while now. This site is all he talks about so i figured i'd give it a shot. Im not an XB owner but i am an enthuisist. My Brother is an active member of this site his username is Swartzautoman. I do like most of the mods he has done to his box and it has made me more interested in purchasing an xb not a 2nd gen dont like em. As far as im concerned they are not xb's. To me that was the whole buzz about them "their square" "boxy" hence the name box. I have always been a car enthuisist have owned some good ones over the years from an 82' supra to an 91 eagle talon Tsi AWD. Well enough about me. I have checked out this site some and like some of the mods i have seen. Have a good weekend all
Welcome to the site Joe. I remember the Talon. Man, those were back in the day. I thought the coolest thing about those was the bump in the hood signifying that the car goes fast Wink
welcome Joe! get an xB man... your bro can set your modding in motion. Big Grin
welcome to the site. glad to have you on board. next step get yourself a box!
Welcome Joe...nice to have you here!
welcome to the site joe
Welcome, Joe! We're good people here, even if we are a bit nuts about out funny looking cars. Tongue Those Talons were interesting cars, and really should have done better on the market than they did.

Glad to have you aboard!

(Get a box.) Smile
Well it was a fun car if you have ever driven an AWD car you know what i mean i think the downfall of those cars was the 4G63 motors they put in them other than that i had no problems heres a list of mods i had
3" exhaust turbo back no cat gotta love Fla.
extreme ported and polished head
SAFC
teamrip TRE race trans (steel shift rods,double syncrhos 2nd and 3rd new shift forks)
i took the car to someone i trusted but they pluged up the oil return from turbo and blew turbo and ended up starving motor for oil and spun rod bearing. After going threw 2-3 sets of rod bearings the engine locked so i sold it
i am looking for another AWD turbo car just wish Toyota made one

hers a good pic

I want to get another Dodge Shadow. It was my first car, and I had an engine with 92hp. I learned later that they made a model with a turbo that produced 174hp and 210ft/lbs torque. I'm sure I could find one somewhere for about $1,000 dollars now. With those little cars with that much power, it was competing with the mustangs and camaros on the streets.

im calling bullsh!t on this... david, lets be serious.... the only underated car that runs with stangs and camaros is the Grand National. by far the raddest car on the planet......

Depends on the course, folks. Blush

My old Porsche Speedster only had 90 HP, but it gave a heck of a lot of cars with a lot more power indigestion in its day...

Carroll Shelby Enterprises modified Shadows into several performance-oriented vehicles such as the Shelby CSX, which was equipped with a turbocharged 2.2 L engine producing 174 hp (130 kW). Because of the car's light weight, it was capable of acceleration equal or greater than that of many contemporary muscle and sports cars of the time. A version without the intercooler, rated at 150 hp (112 kW), was sold to Thrifty as the CSX-T.

* 2.2 L I4 - 93 hp (69 kW) and 122 lb·ft (165 N·m) of torque
* 2.5 L I4 - 100 hp (70 kW) and 140 lb·ft (190 N·m) of torque
* 2.2 L turbocharged I4 - 146 hp (109 kW) and 170 lb·ft (230 N·m) of torque
* 2.2 L turbocharged I4 - 170 hp (127 kW) and 175 lb·ft (237 N·m) of torque (Shelby T2)(87 CSX)
* 2.2 L turbocharged I4 - 174 hp (130 kW) and 210 lb·ft (285 N·m) of torque (CSX-VNT)
* 2.5 L turbocharged I4 - 150 hp (112 kW) and 190 lb·ft (258 N·m) of torque
* 2.5 L turbocharged I4 - 175 hp (130 kW) and 210 lb·ft (285 N·m) of torque (High Torque ECU 91 only)
* 3.0 L V6 - 142 hp (106 kW) and 171 lb·ft (232 N·m) of torque
