So I have seen other cars with the Gauge pods on the A Pillar. Has anyone done it with their xB? If you did, what gauges did you put in? How hard was the install?
i havent done it with the xB but i did put a-pillar guages in a mustang i used to have. i used autometer analog guages. i had oil pressure and boost.

i think someone did a diy on this on this site..... ill look for you
checka check it out!!!!

A friend of mine ordered the 7 color tinted gauge set...cool thing is they have a wiring harness w/ a connector that plugs into the back of the gauge..none of that soldering eyelets on.

Also, Rcurry has one of my oil filter/sending unit adaptors and is going to see if he can machine out a little in the center to get it to work. If it can be done, it'd be a whole lot easier than tee'ing off the stock sending unit.
ive also done some extra Gauges, but i didn't put them on the A-piller.
i used autometer phantoms and i put them in the dash to the right of the speedo.
it was fairly simple, the only problem i had was with the oil adapter plate.
the thread adapter isnt long enough to grab more than a few thread using the supplied gasket.
i just made my own gasket out of RTV and i was able to get more than enough threads.
ive had it that way for some time now and haven't had any problems.

i installed oil temp, oil press, and volt meters

Sweet! I IM'ed Mike today and he said he'd start cutting it today. I told him 1/4" on the oil filter side.

you got. it should be good to go after that. i used red locktight on the adapter just in case.

I've wanted to put gauges on the steering column. I saw the pod in a mag once, but never have seen it again.

Where on the column, and what kind of gauges?

They sat on top of the column and the gauges were viewable inside the steering wheel.
