Palin will lose the McCain ticket!

Hey, it's easier to point the finger than admitting it...

RE: Election 08 Poll

What follows in a strong personal opinion, if it might bother you, skip it.

I'm sad that Palin didn't crash and burn in the debate last night.

Despite the fact that she didn't provide a direct, coherent, focused, accurate, detailed reply to any of the questions, her folksy manner and "cuteness" carried her through.

My actual hope was that people would see through her looks and manner and instead see how woefully ill prepared she is to be suddenly thrust into the CIC position.

Should she (or any of her ilk) end up in charge, there will be no safe place on the planet.

(Besides, I can't STAND her ignorant, uneducated "folksy" dropping of the "g" in ...ing and all her other little cutesy affectations. This is a 44 year old, college educated, allegedly intelligent candidate for the second highest position in this country and potentially a heartbeat away from the highest.)

This isn't a popularity contest and I don't want answers of a quality polished up for the Miss Wasilla Pagent.

I'm not after a beer buddy, I'm after a competent leader. We've had eight years of what happens when you elect a beer buddy...

I voted above (...and I've voted at every election I could since 1967).

What's sad is the media trying to destroy her for being a woman that isn't for abortion.

She learned it from Barack Obama. That man hasn't said a single thing about what he is going to do. GIVE ME DETAILS OBAMA.

I'm sure you would hate the South as well. We are uneducated down here too.

Then why has Obama been speakin (Palin slang) to the world and ACTING like he's already president. He's trying to appeal to everyone like he already is in charge. Nothing screams that more than standing in a stadium of 70+ thousand and being at a podium with some Greek palace behind him.

If Barack was a leader, then why did he wait for things to unfold with the bailout bill BEFORE voicing an opinion? The ONLY plan he gave was saying, "We need oversite, we need to help main street, we need to protect out investors" What the hell kinda plan is that. Didn't ALL Senators want the same thing?

---------

Thank God someone is here that doesn't mind speaking their mind. Tomas, I definitely appreciate that around here and everywhere. My only hope is that people vote an INFORMED VOTE. Not everyone will agree on the issues, BUT I personally believe that people should take a test before they can vote. There are just tooooooo many people on both sides that have no clue what exactly they are voting for.

VOICE YOUR OPINIONS EVERYONE!!!
* As longs as your not offending someone then feel free. Take my reply to Tomas for example. I never called him a name or insulted his intelligence. See... it wasn't that hard Wink

RE: Election 08 Poll

My only opinion on the matter is that I haven't heard a good proposal out of either candidate, but I also think that both candidates will be a better choice than our current leader. I also think that race is acting as a big factor in both campaigns indirectly as well. I think if you took all the voters away that were basing their decision on mostly or entirely the color of the skin of either candidate, you would be left with MAYBE 25% of the voters. And I mean that for BOTH sides. Unfortunately, because of the democratic parties' two primary candidates, this HAS become a popularity contest, because everyone was speculating on whether we would have the first black president or woman president, and that puke has overflowed into the entire presidential race. It makes me sick. So I have decided to not vote in the election this year, for I think neither candidate will make an exemplerary president.

She at least tried to answer the questions in her own honest and truthful way. Biden was called out on the recap of at least 8-10 points that he made that were FALSE. Who do you want, someone that will try to tell the truth, or another lying candidate in office????

RE: Election 08 Poll

Rags, I understand you not wanting to vote as many people feel the same way. But, if you don't believe either one will do a good job, look at the other candidates that will be on the ballot. Even though they don't have a chance in hell of winning, it does make an impression and it gets your voice heard.

In all honesty, none of our votes truly count. We have an electoral college that does the voting for us, however, they usually follow the voters of the states.

RE: Election 08 Poll

How can you trust the "Maverick" character when he has ties to the "Keating Five" savings and loan scandal? Go to keatingeconomics.com to see what McCain does not want to talk about! I am surprise that McCain wants to bring up character with this biggy in his cloest. The Senate Ethics committee chaired by Howell Heflin cleared him due to his poor judgement who was a Democrat. Both choices are not the greatest but why choose someone that tried to steal money as a public figure?

RE: Election 08 Poll

As usual I'm going to be voting for the "lesser of two evils" this time. I've already determined that there is one batch of folks running who's stated goals I disagree with vehemently, so they are not getting my vote unless something even worse shows up about the others.

As usual, this is a damned poor way to have to pick the future leaders of our country.

Why is it that it boils down to finding things the candidates plan to do that are unacceptable, then voting against them no matter what the other side says?

I still have a difficult time actually believing that out of over 300,000,000 people that this is the best we can find.

I certainly can't believe that over the last eight years.

RE: Election 08 Poll

I haven't really participated in a presidential election in a long time, mostly because of the poor choices we've had....Bush Jr & Kerry?!?!!?!?

All of you who want to see what Obama's details are, go to his website and read his plan...it's been there for over a year now.
This is my choice of the lesser of 2 evils.....
Think about this...Palin was chosen as a VP after a 15 min. phone conversation. Her foriegn policy experience is "She can see Russia from her backyard"? McCain can't even operate his email without his wife's help...omg...what would you do w/ nuclear launch codes?
McCain is 72 years old w/ a history of cancer....now who are you really voting for to be president?

RE: Election 08 Poll

I still can't make up my mind.

Here is my two cents.

If you don't vote, you don't have a voice, you don't have an opinion, and you don't have any rights whats so ever. So take the five minutes, walk around the corner to your local polls and let your voice be heard as if screaming from on top of a mountain. Then, if the people you voted for win or loose you have every right to tell as many people as you can about how you feel. But if you don't vote, I don't want to see, hear, read anything about your opinion, because it means nothing unless you vote.

RE: Election 08 Poll

i don't know.......... i think i would have to go with Barack Obama.
its funny because im a (Ragen) republican.
i realy don't like John McCain and i would have never voted for Clinton.
the bigest problem i have with dems are the very heavy funding of social programs, allthow on a state level its real tightened up over the past 5 years.
i just have a problem handing out money to someone that sits on there but and doesn't try to better there life. i have see the lowest of lows in life, ive been homeless, hungry, and cold, and i used a social program for a minet to get myself back on my feet, but as soon as i did.......... i didn't keep asking for help. the reasons i found my self in that life was my own falt, i haddent been realy tring very hard. i learned my lesson, i tried my hardest and did everything i had to to get out of it, and i will never be in that place again.
they should make it as hard to get as a home loan.

the problem i see with this election is ive talked to so meny people that are just interested in being part history by electing the first black or first women.
i don't care about gender of race, im interested in who will realy do what they promis.

RE: Election 08 Poll

Liberals = Heavy Spenders

As you all should be aware by now, California is requesting a government bailout.
...
...
...
HUGE liberal state
...
...
...
Barack Obama is planning on increasing government and spending by over $700,000,000,000 more than what it is now.
...
...
...
Barack = President??? Who's gonna bailout the USA?

And if you want to get into gas prices. IF you want them lowered you WILL vote McCain. The libs tried to pass a bill through congress recently that would allow drilling off our coasts, GREAT, except that it had to be over 100 MILES away from land and it would NOT allow drilling in our PROVEN reserves of 50-60 miles off shore.

Who's looking out for who?

RE: Election 08 Poll

please correct me if im wrong
isnt Barack for alterative fuels and getting away from oil.
i hate ethonal, its no were close to the answer and i don't think drilling for more oil is the answer eather. ethonal is just pushing up the price of corn and everything to do with corn. i paid $8.50 a pound for catfish today because it was corn fed.
we need natural gas and hydregen fuel cars
