Question Forum Design
Posted by: Douche - Today 11:29 AM - Replies (2)

Do you prefer the Portal or the Forum Index?

The Portal is what comes up currently when you log in. Its the page with the snapshot of new threads. (go re-log in and see which one i mean)

The Forum index is; the screen that has the Overview (list of the newest members, newest threads, and the newest posts) Thread Categories under it. (click the banner at the top of the page to see which one i mean)

Have you seen something else around the net that you prefer to either of those options?

  very bad day at work
Posted by: SWARTZAUTOMAN - 02-25-2010 06:00 PM - Replies (5)

so.............. yeah, i found a dead body at work today
called 911 and they were asking me all kinds of questions that i didn't know the answers to.
she was face down & they wanted me to roll her over
i was like " oh man......... i really don't want to be doing this"
it was bad, that all i can say, im not sure how long she had been dead but its was something i don't ever want to see again.
it got me a little chocked up and made me cry for a second
NOT FUN AT ALL!

Yahoo News: Best New Car Values 2010
Posted by: EdwardJTurkowII - 02-15-2010 01:25 PM - Replies (2)

#1 on the list!

Best Resale Value: Under $20,000

2010 Scion xB
Sticker price: $16,420 (manual)
Dealer cost: $15,632
New Car Blue Book Value: $16,420
Five-year service cost: $3,058
One-year insurance cost: $961
Resale value after three years: 60% -- five years: 42%
City: 22 mpg -- Highway: 28 mpg

The Scion xB’s rep as an edgy, hip vehicle that also offers scads of utility boosts its three-year resale value (and it doesn’t hurt that Scion is a Toyota nameplate). The xB offers a capacious 22 cubic feet of cargo space and optional features, such as touch-screen navigation and a DVD entertainment system.

Just another reason to love the box!

  a visit to BOOM town
Posted by: SWARTZAUTOMAN - 02-15-2010 12:33 PM - Replies (30)

so as some of you know ive decided to build a system
after 3 days of some very late nights ive got it all together and it sounds great, very happy with how things look and sound.

2 Kicker L7 8" soloberics duel 2 ohm
Kcker 750.1 amp
Power Acoustik 20.0 farad cap

ill post some cool pics later tonight

my only problem is with the engine running at idle my voltage drops to about 12.7v with a hard drop. if i rev the engine to 2k the voltage stays around 14v.
im thinking i have to do something with the altinator.
i saw someone once (w/ a xB) put an altinator from a (what i was told) different Toyota on and it was making 15.2v at idle.
the other thing i was thinking was just put a bigger pulley on it.

what do you guys think?

  "Performance Chip"
Posted by: EdwardJTurkowII - 02-10-2010 08:57 PM - Replies (4)

Looked into some performance chips cause a buddy just got one for his GMC Sierra to improve gas mileage.

Has anyone tried one of these or can anyone stand by it and say that it works? Not that I don't want to try it anyway, but I care more about 5mpg increase than a hp or torque increase.

I got my VW up to 44mpg just a standard 4cyl 2.0liter wolfburg, but I modified it myself by sticking a 4.3kohm resistor in the electrical work to "Trick" the car into thinking it was at its optimal temp of 54degrees celcius

here's a couple of products I cam across...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERFORMAN...ccessories

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-PERFORM...ccessories

and this i actually think is the better of the 3...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERFORMAN...ccessories

it's too hard to believe if you ask me

again i care more about fuel efficiency than power upgrading

  Intercooler
Posted by: EdwardJTurkowII - 02-10-2010 05:14 PM - Replies (5)

Here's a silly question...

Though I know very little about superchargers and turbo chargers, I understand the purpose of inter-coolers.

What I was wondering is would it be beneficial to have an inter-cooler on a car with no turbo/super-charger? Is it possible to even hook one up without one?

The reason I ask is because a friend of mine insists on putting one on my box and I told him it was pointless and not possible, again this was based off me thinking you need a charger to hook it up to!

  Towing the XB???
Posted by: bora12 - 02-08-2010 01:08 PM - Replies (2)

So I am buying my brother's 2005 BCP when I return from deployment. Only problem is getting it from Florida to Virginia. I am driving my 2006 Tacoma home on leave and then will tow the XB back up to Virginia.

My questions:

If I remove the rear bumper cover will I be able to tow it using a tow dolly, or will it still be necessary to put it on a trailer?

I am hoping to use a dolly as it will save money and weight. The uhaul trailer weighs 2000 Lbs and the dolly weighs only 750 Lbs.

Thanks in advance.
Gary
