Secret Weapon SR Intake
I posted this the other day when I installed it and got no responces maybe here someone wha has installed one will comment , obtw today I was installing the Sylvania 1157a st bulbs that are bluesish when off and burn amber ,,looks nice when lights arent on,,,and saw that the rubber gromets that hold bracket mount, bolts ripped right outta rubber, so i drilled out gromet and used oem bolts.
from 3/27:
Got my sw short ram in mail today , upon inspection I saw in side tube a 2 inch metal shaveing stuck to one of the rivots, glad I looked , I would think they would inspect there products before boxing. oh well, I removed it , second didnt like how the coupler fit on tube side, little loose I thought , throttle body side was nice and snug, 3rd thing was MAF sensor holes didnt line up on intake I had to make holes in sensor a tad bigger .Question if anyone has installed one on your box how did u secure the maf sensor wire harness and all that is connected to it, I just zip tied it to the wire harness to keep things from moving around. All that said the idle and low rpms it make very little noise, which I like, but round 4000 and under load it has an awesome growl and def noticeable increase in power, was able to break loose wheels (stock) going into 2nd and chip 3rd :-)
and got it from JC whitney $189.00 shipped.

I've been looking at the different makes out for the box and I have noticed that the SW usually has shavings left in them because of the design. But, if it was that easy for you to notice, then the least they could do it post it in the install instructions to INSPECT and remove any metal shavings.
I've never heard a bad thing about Injen though.

I do that with the stock air box, snorkle removed. I raced a TC a couple weeks ago. I got a bad start but was catching up to him right before we had to shut down.

RE: Secret Weapon SR Intake
A short ram intake will greatly reduce the chance of water ingestion without a huge decrease in power from the cold air intake.
Good choice. I'm waiting for some home-brew designs to show up like they did in the first-gen community. I have a TRD intake and love it. Way expensive, but you can't beat the quality of OEM goods.
Q: How many Gen 1 owners does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: SHUT UP I HATE THESE NEW LIGHT BULBS I'M KEEPING MY OLD ONES FOREVER
