RE: Suzuki Wagon R
Guys you should have an open mind. Suzuki finally shook the GM/Daewoo inbreeding and is working mostly on their own with some help from Nissan with their new pick-up line. IMO, the next 5-10 years Toyota will become the next GM where they will get to big and really do not cater to quality, Subaru will be the next Toyota where they will make a name for themselves for putting qualtiy out consistently and Suzuki will be the next Subaru putting out awesome sports cars...

My local sales Scion rep told me that the Suziki only hold 25% of its value after 3 years, and our xB can be resold for 90 to 100% of their original value if they are well maintained.

As critical of cars as I am, I actually really like that little Wagon R. Up the engine displacement and bring that sucker here, I love it.

Subaru? i realy don't think so.
toyota is a top of the line compainy at a ground level.
its enginering that makes a toyota a great car.
thats why people buy toyotas because they last a long time with very few problems.
toyota becoming like GM would be like Koshi using all artificial stuff.

You are right and with Suzuki drop kicking GM out I hope build quality goes up. Suzuki is rebadging this same car for Mazda named the AZ for Japan only. They also make small cars for Nissan in Japan only too. The new Swift does very well in Europe and is rated very high for build quality. Even the Japanese big boys like Honda, Toyota and Nissan do not really have a big presence in Europe as they do have here with small cars. I hope they bring some of these small cars that are in different markets here...

Toyota has become to conserative and the Scion brand is a breath of fresh air. Toyota has brought another hit with the xB2 but not with young people as the original did. Sorry to say but Engineering for Toyota is starting to lack and is why they are buying 15-20%? of Subaru to bring back a RWD sports car as they did for themselves in the 80's. Build quality is starting to slip, just look at Consumer reports. CR used to give Toyota an automatic high rating but are not anymore. Toyota is having issues both here and in Europe. I really hope this trend does turn around but I think it might not until its to late! Don't get to upset with my opinion because I am not expert or did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express...
