RE: Speaker Pods
That's looks awesome!
Man I wish I could do that! I mean, I COULD but I don't want to compromise the original integrity of the car. I want to add speakers, but I want my space/windows also! I've been looking at my car everyday trying to get ideas of where to put a couple extra speakers and or subs/amp, without loosing space! I've almost considered customizing a fiberglass headliner, lights, speakers wires, the whole works! But that really is a nice job! RE: Speaker Pods
Thanks guys...I appreciate all the kind words! The 6x9 pods utilize the factory bolt holes for the upper mounts as well as a couple #10 screws on the back lip to hold them in place. I can remove them in a matter of minutes in case I want to go back to the stock speakers. I didn't mind covering up the back 1/4 windows and it seems to be a great place for sound.
If these options aren't good for you I'd defintely consider an under seat sub/amp. The first amp I installed in an xB was in the cubby next to the spare tire. She's had it in there for going on 3 years now without a hitch. The fans are in there because she lives in FLA and I was afraid it'd overheat. ![]() ![]()
