Cruise Control Issue!
I mentioned this in another thread and was told I should post something here to see if the collective xB minds can figure something out!

I have NO F'N CLUE why my cruise control isn't working... I've checked EVERYTHING! The only thing I didn't do was take apart the control housing coming out of the steering wheel and see if there's a loose wire in there or something, but I don't see how that's possible cause when I go to set cruise, the light comes on so there's power going through those wires! I've checked fuses and the wiring going to the fuse box and can't see a thing, just for shits and giggles I replaced every single fuse with a brand new one, nothing....

Here's a pdf I used to backtrack any loose connections with the clutch, brake, etc. Nothing seemed to be out of line!

Also, Here's a website I found of what my cruise control looks like. Now I'm wondering if it was an aftermarket install that the first owner put on it.
http://www.allscion.com/cruisecontrol.html

I'm at a dead end here, anyone have any suggestions or knowledge with cruise control?

RE: Cruise Control Issue!
Have you tried a multimeter on the control unit? It would probably require 2 people, but I would touch the pins with a multimeter to see if you getting any voltage when you press SET on the control arm. Just because you are getting a green light, doesn't mean power is getting everywhere. Maybe there is a separate power for the cruise box under the hood.

RE: Cruise Control Issue!
that i haven't tried... i did what swartz checking for proper ground, i even undid some wiring, cleaned it up a bit and rewired things back together in case there was corrosion somewhere. I've almost gone step for step with troubleshooting like the PDF shows to. If none of that works the only thing left would be to just remove the cruise control and get a new unit(for about $175) or just not worry about cruise control with this car...?

Do you have an aftermarket LED 3rd brake light or LED tail lights?

why would that have anything to do with it?

there is a thread on another forum with this same problem and he said it was linked to his LED 3rd brake light. i emailed the guy at oz and he said they never heard of that before either so i'm going to go ahead and order my led TBL from them and see what happens but when i read this i thought maybe it really is linked

RE: Cruise Control Issue!
there's no LED t/tbl on my car, no! It was working when I initially got it and then about a week later it went. Fortunately I found the EXACT aftermarket cruise switch so I d/led the install on it and went wire by wire and finally found it wasn't grounded anymore! One of the bolts came loose

I've heard of the same thing happening when swapping to led type tail lights.

RE: Cruise Control Issue!
Was your kit installed with T-taps on the wires? If so, you may want to inspect those a little closer. Only reason I mention this is that I used some else were on the car and because the wires are so small and bittle I had one that the T-tap had actually broke the wire but didn't fall out of the holder.
Also, did you go through the troubleshooting procedure?

RE: Cruise Control Issue!
T Taps were in the original kit but none of them were bad so I just kept them there! Thanks for the heads up with that though, i'll keep that in mind if I have problems with it again! Once I got a new multimeter, a buddy of mine and I cranked everything out in the garage! Took a couple of hours cause I had other electrical to do with it but in the end it was just a single ground which was causing it to not work!

I went through every single step checking everything a long the way so it really helped out doing that! I hate side stepping only because if you miss the slightest thing and it still doesn't work, you have to start from the beginning again!
