Decisions, Decisions...
I'm having a serious dilemma regarding what I should do about my summer tires. Should I go get summer tires for my 16" Rotas, or maybe purchase some 17-18" wheels and tires with summer rubber on them?

What would you guys do?

i voted put summer rubber on the rotas! i think they look great on your B.

you should put winter tires on your steelies if you still have them.

RE: Decisions, Decisions...
I can't wait till my summer's go back on... f'n snow tires are driving me nuts. Snow keeps getting lodged up in the wheel well and rubbing when I turn sharp. Plus who ever got these tires with the yellow rims(They were all just given to me when I bought the car from the dealer) They put yellow aluminum caps on them and they're all over threaded on so they have to all be cut off. I might just get new winters next Oct/Nov anyway instead of worry about that. They're getting a little worn!

If you have funds available for new 18's, my vote would be new wheels! The Rota's will be a nice winter set...

RE: Decisions, Decisions...
Well, you guys have spoken and, for the most part, I agree. It would probably make more sense to just swap out my tires for these reasons:

1) Cost. $350 vs $1000. Obvious winner there.
2) TPMS. Swapping out my TPMS would be aggravating because I honestly love the feature.
3) Sidewall. 55 sidewall vs 40 sidewall. Maine roads are rough as hell, so this is a no-brainer.

Thanks for the input!

i agree with everyone elst.
summer tires on the rotas, and winter tires on steelies.
i kind of wish i had kept my steelies, but then again i don't DD my car any more.
in the last 6 months ive only put 1800 miles on it.

The RS4 had 35's on it, which meant that we always had to take mine for trips to Wisconsin...those tires and rims would have been beat to death by the roads up there.

Yea, keep thicker rubber. It's funny how you moved to baby bottom smooth roads, to the massacre they call the road system up in the north east.

Keep a small rim size with big thick tires... I ran 18's with 215/35/18 tires, and the ride was very rough in these L.A streets..

RE: Decisions, Decisions...
The roads are a joke up here. Pot holes, frost heaves, and hills galore. My first-gen lowered on DF210s would have had a rough one.

Maine stinks for having a modified car. Most people think I'm out of my mind when I tell them my car's lowered, and I'm starting to believe them.
