Scion iQ Confirmed
Just when I was asking about the iQ, some confirmation occurs....
http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_...index.html Nice. I will be finished with school right around this time, and I'd love to stay brand loyal. I'm gonna see how this rig stacks up against the TDI Golf and buy accordingly.

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
i still like that car so much.
maybe if ive got the xB paid off by then ill have to grab me one. now i will have to say this. befor i got my FJ i almost got a xD. i loved the outside of the car, i thaught it was cool as hell. but after a few days of driving it (my dealer let me drive it for a week) i took it back, i hated everything about the inside and couldn't stand driving it anymore. i pray to the car gods that the IQ isn't the same was "To test a mans character, give him power" Abraham Lincoln http://www.ez-bakedcustomz.com/ blaming a shooting on a gun is like me blaming my spelling errors on my keyboard. 138th member |

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
I like the body but I don't think I can handle 99HP, that's just too small!
My buddy who just got back from like 2 yrs in Australia just got an 09 xB, not the series release though. He saw the Mobile xB with a 4.7 liter, twin turbocharged, toyota tundra engine in it and he now wants to do that to his! I've seen a couple small blocked xB's which is just flipping nuts! http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showth...p?t=225726 that's the V8 Let's Fight http://edwardjturkowii.mybrute.com "I bet if you put bits of bacon on a strip of bacon you could travel back in time, it's like a tastey vortex" SUBSTANTIALICIOUS: \sub - 'stan (t) - shu - 'li - shus\ (noun). RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
99 HP may seem weak, but the engine size is all relative to the weight of the vehicle. The weight of the iQ is 1900 pounds, which makes it 500 pounds lighter than a first-gen and 1100 (!) pounds lighter than a second-gen. The power/weight ratio of the iQ is almost identical to that of a 2nd-gen xB. Being a 2Gen owner, I can tell you that my car has more than enough power for passing, highway cruising and horsing around.
This is very exciting. Scion gave the green light on a car that has the potential to be iconic and instantly recognizable, like the first xB. Q: How many Gen 1 owners does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: SHUT UP I HATE THESE NEW LIGHT BULBS I'M KEEPING MY OLD ONES FOREVER |

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
id want the 1.4-liter diesel.
you can do some masive peformance work to a diesel. i once saw a dodge that was pushing 62 pounds of boost on his diesel. im not sure how much HP the diesel would have but even if it only had 99hp it would be real easy to gut it up to 200 "To test a mans character, give him power" Abraham Lincoln http://www.ez-bakedcustomz.com/ blaming a shooting on a gun is like me blaming my spelling errors on my keyboard. 138th member |

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
whats wrong in having a 99hp car? i mean, my previous car, '89 Toyota Tercel, which has 73hp. i dont have any problems while passing cars on the freeway since i always go 80mph in it. i even went to 100mph at one time. LOL!
i missed that car... |

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
Nothing's wrong with having 99HP if the car you're driving can at least get out of its own way, hehe

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
I dunno, there's something about 99hp that just doesn't seem right! That's like saying you have a computer with a P1 133mhz processor and 16mb ram upgraded to 64mb granted I'm running 108 hp now but at least it's over 100, lol! That and I like cars with passenger space! I'm use to carpooling people in my bus!

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
@ EdwardJTurkowII the most current testing methods the first gen xB went from 108 hp to 103 hp, so the difference is only 4 hp. Our first gen xB's with exhaust, intake, pulley and headers are more than adequate IMO. With that being said, 99 hp on a lighter car and the ability to get more out of the motor sounds like a really fun car to drive! Being 6'4" at 290 pounds, I'm not holding my breath that I will fit in this little car...
Hey, it's easier to point the finger than admitting it... |

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
I can count on two hands the number of times that I've had more than two people in my car (i've owned the car for almost two years). My box is an appliance for my commute, and that's about it.
The iQ CAN seat four, if you really need it to. I'm short (5'6''), so I could probably throw a couple of children or small adults in the back. I can see myself just leaving the rear seats down most of the time though. it looks big enough to throw a couple weeks' worth of groceries in if the seats are down. If I end up getting this car, it'll be the first time I've bought a car for the 98% of driving that I normally do, instead of purchasing a larger car in the 2% chance I carry more than just myself and my girlfriend. RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
Yeah, I'm 6'1" myself, which is one of the reasons I got my box in the first place! I sat in the back seat with the front seats all the way back and still had room to spare! The xA has less driving room than the B, so I'm anxious to see what kind of driver space this iQ will have! I'm all about having 2 cars anyway so we'll see what the second purchase will be. Wish that damn Fiat Abarth came here

RE: Scion iQ Confirmed
I don't think we'll see the crazy concept that we've seen. I'm expecting it to be identical to the European-market iQ.
Anybody interested in the iQ should read this. Looks like they'll likely be debuting the iQ at the NY Auto Show next week: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/...-show.html The good news is that we'll be getting the 1.3L 99HP engine. I think the 1.0L wouldn't have been enough for American roads. Q: How many Gen 1 owners does it take to screw in a light bulb?
