Warning Lights will not go out

I just changed my front brakes. Put the car down check fluids and take it for a test ride. The stability control and track off warning lights came on and will not go off. When I shut the car off and restart they go off when I put it in gear and drive forward they come back on. HELP?
How bad did I screw things up?

Did you mess with the ABS sensors?

When I changed my brakes, I had no light issues. I just hope you didn't mess up a sensor.

how long of a test ride did you take it on? when thea still had her first gen, we had problems with that as well, even without messing with the brakes. if im not mistaken i pulled the fuse to the ECU, put it back and all was normal again. see if that works for you.

Something else to try is to pull the negative cable off the battery for a minute.

Also, you could try and oil change reset method to see if it will reset the cluster as well.

No luck so far. I also spoke to Johnboy about this and he told me to drive at least 55 for 15 minutes and it would reset. I have pulled the negative cable for a couple of minutes, long enough I had to reset my clock, but not my radio.

Any other ideas?

Seems like you have a sensor issue then. Just goto an auto parts store so they can hook up their scanner to pull the code. Should be free for them to do that.

I did read somewhere else that a Camry driver was having the same issue and it ended up being his brake clutch. It could be anything.

Thanks. I new I should have taken it to somebody to work on this. I just didn't want to pay the dealer $262.00

RE: Warning Lights will not go out

I'm sure it's probably something simple. Did you remove the speed sensors from the back of the hubs? It's easy to pull on wires sometimes and not even know you've done it.

The best thing to do is just what David said..go to AutoZone or some place similar to where you live and they'll usually check the DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Code) for nothing. Once you have that I can check the manual and tell you what it is.
In the meantime, if you have a multi-meter you can check some things yourself...
