Get the Iridium IX's. They are running quite nicely.

Yep, more complete combustion = more power = *BIG TIM TAYLOR GRUNT*
I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself
You gap a plug by taking the prong at the end of the spark plug and slightly bending it further away from the igniter. Hence, there is a further amount of space for the spark to jump, and gives a much more complete combustion. I can never remember the correct terminology, but you measure the gap with a little round metal chip...I believe it's called a gap tool. I'm not sure.

alright, at 29xxx miles i just regapped my factory plugs to .032 from .042 with the dollar spark plug gap tool. It was kinda hard with the strut bar there but i managed to git er done without removing the bar. Depending on how much mileage i get off this tank of gas i might or might not get new plugs.

RE: What are Others Running for Sparkplugs?
the reason for the .044 gap is because the NGK Iridium's can handle it and it will give you a beter combustion chamber burn.
With that said did you achieve any better gas mileage?

It's mainly at idle where you will feel the difference in just vibration alone.

RE: What are Others Running for Sparkplugs?
This whole gap thing and irridium or copper etc is confusing. Whats funny is that the Echo, bB, and prius...all the same 1.5 liter engine as the xB recommend the use of irridium plugs with a .044 gap! Why did Toyota decide .032 for the xB?? Answer me that.
